German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt has stated that the ongoing conflict in Iran has not yet resulted in increased migration flows to Europe. Speaking to Rheinische Post, he emphasized that authorities are monitoring migration patterns in countries like Iran and Lebanon closely, but have not observed pressure at the Turkish border, which would signal a rise in migration. Despite the absence of immediate flows, Dobrindt highlighted that precautionary measures are being prepared at the European level to address potential future movements.

He also indicated that internal migration within Iran and Lebanon remains high, but these do not currently translate into increased border crossings into Europe. The minister left open the possibility of extending internal border controls beyond September, depending on developments. The upcoming implementation of reforming the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) on June 12 is also a key factor, with Dobrindt suggesting that the international situation, particularly in the Middle East, will influence future migration trends and policy responses.
